Well you seem to have quite an affinity for languages! How many do you speak? I'm worried the ab initio classes will be too fast haha, I think German grammar is going to be a real struggle! But it'll be worth it for the year abroad.

I chose it because it's so fascinating to study the human experience! I've always been interested in culture and how humans interact, and the UCL course allows a really broad study. I'm particularly excited to study medical anthropology!

What other specialisation would you consider adding?

Yes I love them! I speak 5 (Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and German)! I want to learn Russian and Arabic next cause I like their literature haha. Why don't you spend the summer before uni working in Germany or something? They have these "food and shelter for 4hours of work" arrangements which work great for aspiring language learners. Also if you know English syntax, the German grammar will come intuitively after you can communicate. Just don't study cases and hard grammar on day one. Do that after you understand the structure of the language better. Otherwise, the grammar would be worthless.

What is medical anthropology exactly?

And Im considering Econ which I despise but it is employable or sociology/politics which I enjoy but is not very employable. Tough choice... I might also just do a minor language(Arabic) instead. I will have to figure it out. Did you go to London for assessment day? How was it?

5!!! Okay wow! That's amazing! If I ever conquer German I'd like to study Arabic afterwards - such a stunning language, and I love Arabic calligraphy! Will you try and learn as many languages as possible? I think I might try and take a course or something?? Thanks for the tips!

Medical anthropology is basically looking at healthcare around the world, and how culture interacts with treatments etc. For example, it questions things like psychiatric treatment, and how traditional approaches can be more useful for certain people, versus western approaches!

Yeah I live in London already! I liked it! I really love the UCL buildings :smile:

mine is 5,5,5,4,4 on 5 AP tests (American alert). It is kind of like an AAA or AAB I think. I was expecting the offer to be higher (Not that I am complaining)

Sciences Po didn't want you so UCL took you? Was that after your Sciences Po interview? Do you know if it can happen the other way round?

Before the interview UCL said they thought I was a strong candidate but Sciences Po did not want me so they offered me to transfer my app to the regular ESPS and i don't know if it can happen the other way around.

Ok thank you! So did Sciences Po tell you straight after the interview? Or before? Just to clarify. And if you did do the Sciences Po interview, what sort of questions did they ask?

Okay let me clear: I did not do an interview with Sciences Po :smile:

in January I got an email from UCL telling me that Sciences Po rejected me but UCL was inviting me for an interview in London. A couple weeks later, I did a skype interview and wrote an essay. A week later i received an offer
