UCL ESPS Applicants 2016 entry

Hello everyone!

I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year's ESPS applicants so thought I'd make one. We can discuss things like the TSA, the assessment day in general and the Sciences Po interview (if you've applied for the Dual Degree that is!).

I'll get the ball rolling with one question: is anyone applying without having done Maths at A level? I ask because I haven't done Maths since GCSE and am desperately looking for resources to help me get my maths back up to a good level for the TSA.

Hope to hear from some of you!

Hello,

I don't have Maths a level either and I shall be applying for the Dual ESPS degree. Concerning the TSA, I have been told that it's more a critical thinking assessment. There are some sample papers online and it's more tiring than challenging in my opinion. Do not worry!! Has anyone heard back with assessment day invitations yet?
I haven't done maths since GCSE either, and I did a practice TSA in September and didn't do too badly! It's definitely more about critical thinking and problem solving

What specialisms are you guys applying for? (Anthropology and German for me!)

French and Politics - but if I get on might see if I can switch to German ab initio.

Anyone here applied for the Dual Programme with SciencesPo. If so, which campus?

Yup! Got an email today for the assessment day on the 9th December
I also have an invitation for the assessment day on the 9th!

Does anyone know where I can find mock/past papers for the TSA? I was only able to find one :frown: I really ought to get in some practice
I'll be going to the assessment day too! Haven't even had a chance to look at the UCL TSA yet eek, better get studying! :h:
Oh no, if they offer you a chance to come in for assessment day are the days rigid? I have my Cambridge interview that day :/

I'm sure they'd be fine with moving you to one of the later assessment days!
I'll be there on the 9th too! Flying in from Norway 😎

Guys, I'm really confused. Is it just a group discussion and a TSA on the assessment day, or is there an interview too?

Just the TSA and group discussion! However people doing the dual degree with Sciences Po are interviewed I believe.

Otherwise no interview!

Thank you! I'm honestly so glad I didn't pick the dual degree then. I have an interview in Cambridge two days before, so I don't think I could go through the same struggle against my nerves for UCL as well. The TSA is enough to think about!
Hello,

I am an international applicant, and I have just known about the ESPS Dual degree only after I sent my application via UCAS. I would like to ask if it would be possible to change your course from PPE to the ESPS dual degree at UCL? Would they consider this albeit the fact that ESPS is a very competitive degree? (My IB grade is 44) Guidance would very much be appreciated!
Have any international students heard back for the Dual Degree program?
Just got my email invitation to the assessment day on the 9th! :wavey:

Are we supposed to bring our parents?

Hi guys! I'm an IB student!
Got an invitation too!
Apparently this year TSA are really hard.. I tried to do some pass papers and some questions are really tricky!
However, do you think they are gonna be really strict on our results?

I have an interview for the double degree too on the 9th!!
