I accidentally clicked a deep web link

I was browsing reddit, and I accidentally clicked a link, thinking it was a normal link. This was just on Firefox without the browser. It came up as an error message, and I cancelled it right away. I'm just wondering how likely it is that I've now gotten a virus? And if I should get my computer checked?

Your probably okay, do a full virus scan to be sure.
Run a security scan
Probably quite likely. As an IT specialist at Google. I've seen this happen a few times. And have needed to delete my computer. Good luck and all the best 😘

This seems like pretty legit advice. OP, you should probably delete your computer. Maybe even set the hard drive on fire to be safe.

It's also good to make sure you have the latest Windows. If you have number 10 I suggest upgrading to Windows 95, or if you have an alien wear computer or laptop go for the 2000 addition.

oh yes by all means, destroy your computer with a sledgehammer...:colone:
seriously deep web links have all kinds of illegal dark stuff as well as real bad viruses, you should do a clean install of your OS, or replace the hard drive. or always worry about whether you have a virus...
(something like this happened to me, and I nuked my pc hard drive with heavy cleaning tools, and then reinstalled the OS)

You may have contracted HIV go see your GP quick
Ignore what people are saying. You can get a virus from anything and everything these days. In fact I have attached a virus to this very message, so if you're reading this I already installed a trojan pony and have probably all your passwords. MWAAHAHAHAHHA

Just get malwarebytes. Google malware anti malware scan. Download for which kind of system you have. It does wonders. And it's free.

But for future notice, never click anything on reddit. As soon as I go there I keep my hand far away from the mouse as possible.

You can't get on the deepweb from using Firefox lmao. You would need to have Tor installed.

I'm not worried about getting on it just if I have any viruses from it.

Yes pay 200 pounds to get your computer repaired because you are a lazy person and can't google something as simple as 'How to check if I have a virus'.I can't even believe if you are seriously this dumb or are that lazy to post this.

I googled about this, but everyone was taking the absolute p**s, like some have in this thread, so I couldn't find anything. And I've no idea who's being serious. Tbf, I've had viruses before and not known about them. I'm more worried about spyware.

Lol, I know I have no knowledge of computers, so people don't need to joke about it.

Thanks for everyone that has actually left helpful advice.
Oh ffs, how stupid are you?! You can't even get on the deep web without ****ing tor.
Op use your brain and learn then.
And if you truly are this ignorant then you probably have many viruses lol

The chance of you having a virus is extremely low. It is not a bad idea to have up-to-date virus scanning software, and regularly run scans of your computer however.
What should you do if it was on your phone? iPhone can’t get viruses right?
