Applying through clearing without applying normally?

Can you get a place through clearing if you haven't gone through the normal process of applying to 6 unis and picking a your firm and insurance?

And when does clearing start/finish?

Ok, thanks PQ :smile:
If you know you definitely want to apply to uni this year, I'd personally do it now. Then you have your original 6 choices (but phone or email them first to check they accept late applications) as well as Extra and Clearing, so a lot more chances of getting a place.

I cba with full time work, uni is about the only way out of it for 3 years :rolleyes:

Think I'd rather do something at the Open Uni though instead of actually going to a uni though.
