History and Archaeology or Scandinavian Studies and History?

I really want to do a joint history degree and I'm stuck between these two, what's your experiences of these courses and what would you suggest is a better path overall to take?

If you want to learn a modern Scandinavian language (and have the option of learning Old Norse as well), and spend a year abroad then it is obvious which degree you should pick. I don't know much about Edinburgh's degree but the history half of the Scandinavian Studies and History degree at UCL is based at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies and is pretty much all Russian/East European history. If you have specific questions I can try to answer them, but simply asking which course is better is almost impossible to answer.
