Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)
that attempted headbutt hasn't got me excited at all. knowing that the playoffs are to come and teams are to taste the success of promotion is just going to make me more depressed. someone buying out bates would get me excited.
But as they say, through THICK and THIN.

Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)
I hope they don't! I'd love a trip to Forest next season!
Also, I have heard some nasty rumours about a wobbler Dennis threw about Gary Kelly's farewell charity dinner. But alot of things about it link up quite convincingly. But then again there is enough evidence to suggest it could also be hot air.
Hmmmm fingers crossed. -
Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)I heard that too Mellie. Just what we need eh(Original post by Mellie)

Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)I think we need keep cool on it. What with the end of the season arriving and everything that's gone on over the past few weeks, it might just be a case of temperature's running high. I'll be watching for signs closely anyway.(Original post by AAJ1)

Have you heard anything about who Dennis and Gus were scouting at at the Swansea/Blackpool match? -

No, but I do know Blackpool are on fire at the moment and are my tips to go up in the play-offs. If that's the case I'm not sure any of them would want to come to us in a league below

Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)
I actually reckon Yeovil will be the ones who get promoted in the end. well, I hope they will because Forest, Oldham and Blackpool will be much more realistic away days

Loads of people are saying they were scouting Trundle, but even if he did want to come (which he won't), we couldn't afford him anyway. I reckon they are after Merrell. -
Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)
Morrells alright, but he he must be about 32 now I reckon. He played with Lee Trundle at Wrexham and his scoring record was actually pretty good but that was about four years ago now, he's not really replicated that form since.
I am not Trundle's biggest fan either. Even if we did have enough money for him, he has some sort of mad contract at Swansea; not just in terms of wages but he also has Beckham-esque image rights attached to it, so he gets cuts from shirts with his name on and other merchandise. If we go for a more well known striker, I reckon it will be Constantine.
I hope we keep Becky as well. We'd be mad to let him go. Wage wise, he can't be earning much and he probably wouldn't attract much of a tranfer fee because he's only had one season in the League. We have nothing to lose by keeping him. Scunny probably have cash to spend after selling Andy Keogh (for four times what we got for him!!!) so no doubt they will bid. Even if Wise isn't keen, I think he could be persuaded. Remember, it was Bates who signed Beckford, not Blackwell. He might tell young Dennis to persevere. -
Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)
Also, apparenty Simon Morris has put together a consortium and is going to place an official bid. He has loads of hamfisted ideas, such as a 50,000 seater arena (who's he trying to kid) and is promising to spend all kids of cash.
I hope to God he doesn't get it though. I really do not trust the guy. He abused his position when he was involved during Krasner's reign. Plus,he bullied Jeffrey Richmond out. -
Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)I believe you're right. It's gonna be Uncle Kenneth next season. I'll put my student loan on it.(Original post by Mellie)
Also, unless I a mistaken, Morris is the crook who wanted to plant drugs on Duberry and have Kelly kneecapped to get them off the wage bill. Nice guy, hope he gets hit by a truck. -

Duncan Revie is the onlyother feasable option, but we don't even know that muchy about him. Dennis and Ken have explicit plans for where we intend to go as a club and at least the one thing we know for sure is that they will support each other. They might not be the most popular people in football but it's a chance to get some real stability.
I reckon there will be like, two other bids though but Bates with gazump them.
Also, don't know if you know anyone with a twenty year season ticket but the club have confirmed they will honour the holders, which is great news considering it wasn't in their hands after admin

Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)Duncan Revie is the name ive heard banded about, although how serious his intentions are I dont know. Bates is a joke. Nothing against Wise but I detest Bates.

Re: The LUFC Society (League One's Finest)(Original post by Ronaldo VII)
bottom of the league
Took you all this time to twig, eh
Leftite; I'd just get used to Bates if I were you. I don't think Revie will buy. He did mention something about being in a position to make a bid in July, but apart from the fact that Bates' bid will already be OK'd by then (probably sometime this coming week), getting a new manager then would be a nightmare. We need stability. I know alot of people hate Bates and Wise but we are ina good position in the sense that both chairman and manager get on. Wise is always going to have Bates' support. Plus, if a new chairman comes in, Dennis will walk, even if he wanted. We need some stability.
From what's coming from inside the club, the chances of Bates allowing himself to be outbid is small. I know he hasn't really proved himself so far but he's had a couple of **** seasons; lumberered with other people's debt and other people's manager. By the time Blackwell went it was too late to do anything anyway. This next season is Wise's first proper season and in many respects Bates' first season. If he is no more convincing then fine, hate him. But this is our fresh start, we all need to be pulling in the same direction and Bates deserves another chance while we have a clean slate.
Interested to know what everyone thought of him pre-dismissall and also Delph.
