Specialising once trained

Is anyone looking to specialise once they have done their training?

I really want to going into oncology/cancer care, hopefully Macmillan (though I know that is hard to get). I have other interests like neurology, theatre, outreach and health promotion.

I know I don't want to just be a ward nurse, ward manager, matron etc and some specialist nurses seem so boring when they come round the area I work on.

I could quite possibly change my mind through my training though.

Have you started your training?

The specialty that I was interested in before I started is where I've ended up working, I did change my mind several times over the three years though.
Most student nurses change their minds several times about where they want to work throughout their training. The beauty of nursing is that it's quite a diverse profession, so you can change where you work throughout your career.
