Can you take a third year and retake an A-Level accompanied by a BTEC to increase your UCAS points???
You can. However, unis might not accept this. It depends what you want to study and where - some will expect certain grades from 3 A Levels (or the equivalent) and not accept three plus something else. Taken to the extreme, it's like expecting them to accept 3 A Levels plus 100 other things to equal the same amount of UCAS points - that would be ridiculous.
So yes, you can resit A Levels and do a BTEC, but it might not be acceptable to the uni you want.

Ok thank you for your help, so best to check with the uni first

Yep, or read their website as it should say there what they accept. If you're aiming for a very top uni then this probably won't work, but for a less competitive course at a lower ranked uni it might do. But not all unis will perform as expected, so you might find a higher ranked uni agreeing to it and a lower one refusing.
