Scale bar for biological drawing help please

Hello! I know a scale bar is simple to do but I've forgotten and googling how to draw one has confused me more. I need to do one for my biological drawing of a red blood cell. The cell is 8.01 micrometers and when measured with a ruler, the image size is around 3.5cm.

How do I incorperate a scale bar? what key do I write? All help appreciated!
Not too sure exactly what you want, but here's what I'd do:

Let's say we want 10 micrometres (um) to be 5cm.

Simply draw a 5cm line, label it 0-10um. There could be 5 increments, 1cm apart, to show increments of 2um.

Does that make any sense?
