There a 2 light waves and they make a fringe pattern, one of them has the amplitude 8 and the other one has amplitude 16. What's the minima and maxima of the pattern?

I'm thinking the minima is 8 because that's where the destructive interference is. And 24 is the maxima because of constructive interference. Is it rlated to Young's slits experiment, where destructive interference occurs at the black colours and constructive interference occurs at the white colours?
