Communist =/= communist a lot of the time

A lot of the enemies of the Soviet Union were communist. You get this false idea from pop history that communists were all one big group that agreed with each other.

They were not Muslim. Neither were the flipping Nazis.

Nazis actually went along quite well with Muslims, and they had many in the SS ranks, I guess they were working against the common enemy.

To be fair Nazis also had some Jews in the SS.

Editor: "Was it? Oh, well. He probably deserved it. No story there then."

Jewish killing units (einsatzgruppen) were made up of just Bosnian Muslims.

Plenty of Russian people helped the Nazis carry out the holocaust when they invaded. Is what I am referring to. They were not Muslim. Neither were the flipping Nazis.

I'm Muslim myself. It's quite embarrassing and humiliating seeing this behaviour from the "community" that I belong to. Makes you question things I guess. I'll keep minding my business however.

Anyway, I'm a socialist, but just like the left opposition to the Bolsheviks in 1917-1921 and beyond I have never been a Leninist etc. So it is a pointless comparison. Bolsheviks were largely counter revolutionary in my eyes and acted like tyrants from the get go, along with their Menshvik fiends towards working class democracy. I don't like Soviet Union and it damaged and damaged socialism that has never been repaired. It;s no suprise to see me have a go at the Soviet Union.

Mensheviks were moderate social democrats dealing with very difficult economic circumstances as a result of the war and an angry and hugely diverse population. The Bolsheviks were the only people smart enough to put a (variant) of Marxist theory into practice, and if you question that they were Marxist you need nothing more than to look at their social (legalisation of homosexuality, abortion, divorce) and economic policies (control of industry, and no not just by the state at the early stages).
It's also not surprising the Bolsheviks were tyrants at the beginning, given that they had to deal forces invading from France, Britain, Germany, rogue factions in the former Russian Empire, rogue factions in Russia itself, small factions in Siberia and elsewhere in the East. It's really not surprising.
