Applying independetly- reference question

So I'm applying independently through UCAS this year, but I want to get a reference from one of my teachers from last year. I've emailed him and he's happy to do this, but I'm not sure how I should go about obtaining the reference. Do I get UCAS to contact my former college and ask for a reference, through the 'Options' section of my application? The FAQ suggests this, but how will the college know that I want this specific teacher to supply the reference?

Or should I just enter his personal contact details on the reference page of my application?

I am applying independently too! In fact I sent my application out on Tuesday :smile:

To answer your question: Yes you just need to fill in the boxes in the "Reference" section in your UCAS application. UCAS then sends an email to your referee to the email address you provide and tells them how to add the reference from there.
