I haven't learnt about privation yet in A2 Psychology, but I know that feral children are children that experienced privation. So 'explain the behaviour' I'm guessing means how do they learn to behave when they are released?

If so, they are going to use certain people as role-models such as carers who are potentially high status and successful and similar to them (i.e. same sex) so they can identify with them. They will observe their behaviour, pay attention and retain it. They will be motivated if their role model is rewarded for their behaviour, and this will vicariously reinforce the behaviour in them. If they have the self-efficacy (if they feel as though they are capable of reproducing the behaviour) they will.

I think you could apply this generic formula for SLT to privation by making specific examples of certain behaviours.

Sorry if this isn't the answer you're looking for.
Thankyou
