How to keep motivated studying History? (Deutsche Demokratische Republik)

Hey

For German I'm studying the DDR and life in East Germany, but I'm finding it very hard to not get bored and stay motivated to write really long essays on the topic. The trouble is, I'm just not interested in history but this is a large topic in my syllabus. The problem isn't so much about the "foreign language" aspect as much as about the "historical" aspect of this topic (hence why I've placed it here).

So my question to anyone studying history is as follows: How can you make history interesting? :/ Are there any YT channels which might talk about such German history? Because at the moment I'm finding the topic incredibly boring.

I'm sure history can be fun though, so do you guys have ways through which you make history fun/entertaining to learn about? :biggrin: Thank you ^^
