Do I have a chance of getting an offer from St. Andrews or Edinburgh uni?

So i'm applying for universities to study history this year and really want to go either Edinburgh or St. Andrews university. I'm from England and got AABC at AS level (the B is in history which is the subject I want to study- I'm re-taking one exam to hopefully boost up the grade). I've been predicted A*AA and the entry requirements are AAA in both uni's for history. So do you think if I apply i'm likely to get an offer from either or is there no point as i've heard both are very hard to get into. Thank you!
