Your view simply does not fit with the hundreds and possibly thousands of others. Those were a few examples. What is very interesting is that while the first year students generally like the new campus those I spoke to who had previously studied at Singleton preferred it.

I'll say it again - you are an invigilator. How could your experience of the occasional small talk with the odd student (and I question how much interaction you even have with students over the academic year) be representative of the experience of an actual, current student studying at Swansea uni on a daily basis?

I'm currently studying chemical engineering at swansea so I can't comment on the comp sci course but I can tell you about the state of the facilities at the uni.

1.Assuming you will be based at Singleton campus, the computing facilities are limited with most being located in the library. '
decade old computers in dark caves' is a very apt decription. Most of the computers are old, dirty and slow, with the majority still running windows 7. The silent computer areas are full of people eating and talking loudly despite this being against the rules it is never enforced. The whole library and also the campus in general has a very run-down dilapidated look and feel to it.

2.Also, good luck if you are studying into the evening and need to use the toilets as they are completely filthy. People urinate all over the seat and the floor, leave toilet paper everywhere and don't bother to flush. I was at Singleton last year and I would actually walk home to used my own toilet rather than go at the uni thay are that bad.

1. Not relevant to OP. CS folk has specialised computer rooms with the latest computers to do all the geek stuff you want.
2. Same as above. If you are doing CS, you probably use the toilets in the Faraday building. That being said, the library toilets are nowhere near as bad as you describe.
P.S. Some people might eat sometimes in some parts of the library but not as much as you make it look like. Also, there are plenty of silent areas to work at. But again, the whole library matter might not be too relevant to our CS friend.

Quite insightful, thanks. Anyone else care to comment on Swansea Uni? Need some help deciding.

Read above. You have a chance to get in the winning train, don't miss it. You will struggle to get the combo Swansea has (cheap place, top uni for CS, nice surroundings, great for socialising) anywhere else.
