Should I transfer back home

So im 18 in first year going to one of the top universities in the country (Canada), i moved from a smaller city to a university 6 hours away. I have been struggling with homesickness since I moved here, I'm now 4 months in. I feel like i chose this university just for the status and hype around going there, being a top university i thought it would be a great choice, but now i don't think i was actually ready to leave my home town. I went home for a weekend and when the time came to go back to university i didn't want to go at all, i spent the entire trip back crying. Im now looking into transferring back to the university in my home town. I also don't like my program, so I would be starting again in the fall in a new program. Im torn between staying only because I have become really good friends with my floormates. Has anyone else gone through this before? could really use some advice.
i'd stay, things get better
