What are options after alevels?

So I am thinking to chose ECONOMICS, ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS & LAW in A-levels what can be my possible options after Alevels like career wise related to these subjects and what degrees can I go with? I need serious career counseling I guess.
Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you’ve posted in the right place? Posting in the specific Study Help forum should help get responses.

I'm going to quote in Tank Girl now so she can move your thread to the right place if it's needed. :h: :yy:

You would be extremaly limited in terms of your choices as three of your subjects are simply Business-related. I would advice you to not do Business Studies as an A-level! Instead, you should do something that could leave you with more doors open, such as English Lit or Lang+Lit (combined), psychology, foreign language or sociology. Even if you want to pursue a career in business, those subjects would still be useful and a better choice than an a-level in business studies. If you want to do law at uni, you can of course do law at AL, but be aware that many unis won't even consider it as a good A-level for Law (I know, it's weird, but true). A better choice would again be English lit, Politics or History. Hope this helps! xxx

What career or degree interests you?

As per other poster, your choices may be a bit narrow. What about Maths instead of either accounting or business?

How do they teach foreign language? like do you have to know a language before choosing that specific language in Alevels? What if I want to start my own business ? I want to study corporate Law that is why I am choosing LAW in A levels. How will english lit benefit me in these fields?
Thanks for the help though

I want to know what options do I have like what careers I can pursue if I chose these subjects. Maths is really not my cup of tea I am terrible with it. I am thinking of not choosing Business since it is one of the black listed subjects too by many Universities.

A law (or economics) degree means lots of essay writing, so an A-level that includes essay writing would be useful preparation - eg English or History.

Your choice of these subjects indicates you want to either go into Economics, Accounting, Business or Law. As non of these choices are facilitating. Economics is the only respected one out the lot. So good luck getting into Law, one of the most competitive degrees in the country.

You limit yourself from all the science degrees (bar foundation years), and I can guarantee you that every accounting degree will require A level mathematics. Also Economics and Business both possess a good degree of mathematics at university (e.g. differential equations). If you can't "do maths" (which I don't believe) - then I'd suggest looking at subjects which will open up new career paths.

Perhaps:

History, Economics & English Literature? These will open up quite a few doors and let you pursue a variety of degrees such as Law or PPE (and much more).

Or, if you decide that you can do mathematics:

Mathematics, Economics & History - This will be even better.

Other A levels to consider:

Philosophy
Computer Science
Spanish / French / Non-native language
Biology / Human Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Classic Civ

No, you don't have to be (nearly)fluent in a language to do it as an AL ;-) you don't need to do business studies A-level if you want to open your own business, simply because you'll learn the stuff in Economics - there's a massive content overlap. English Lit will really improve your essay writing skills which have to be perfect if you want to do law degree, and succeed in it ;-) also, it will show that you are not narrowly specialised in a certain field, but that you have a wide range of skills and stuff. ;-) Doing accounting for AL is all right though, it's basically applied maths which will be very useful for you, more than business studies, and there's not much content overlap between Eco and accounts ;-) doing a foreign lang, English lit, Accounting, and English (or History or Philosophy or Sociology if you prefer) would be the best option for you :-) don't know if what I wrote makes sense, but I hope I helped ^.^

I just realised that I made a mistake in my writing. I wrote that the best AL options for you are English lit, foreign lang, accounts and English/hist/socio, while in fact I mean Economics, foreign lang, accounts and English (politics, sociology or history). Sorry for that ;p ;3
