New course sucks

The new syllabus sucks, and well I'm not doing so well.In a practice essay for the second module with two unseen texts we did a practice and even though I didn't finish i got a 19 out of 40. And I'm set 1. At QE boys. I'm worried. I'm not on track for my target and I didn't do great in our first test on the inspector calls, only 30 out of 40. Someone pls help I'm really worried and I don't know how to improve :frown:
