I have been offered a new laptop through DSA, how much is taking the piss?

So I've been offered a new laptop through DSA, on the basis that mine is old, can't hold charge very well, and simply isn't practical in the same way as more modern laptops are.
On the grounds that I have to pay the first £200 of it myself, and they will then pay the rest, how much can I actually spend without going to far? If they were giving me a laptop they thought would be suitable in the long term I'd be more than happy to accept, but with that much of my own money going in, where's an appropriate place for them to say it costs too much?
