Hi I have an interview for early years PGCE on Wednesday. Could you give me an insight into the interview process? What sort of questions were asked in the individual interview

Hi. The presentation wasn't bad at all. They're judging how well you get on in a team. Don't be shy but don't take over the discussion either. The actual interview was only 10 minutes and there were 4 questions. One was about how your classroom would be diverse and one was about a child with poor attitude in your lesson and how you'd cope with it. Base your answers around inclusion and diversion making sure you add in that all children's different needs should be catered for. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Yeah I had 2 other interviews lined up one for edgehill and one for a school direct but mmu is closer to me as I live in Oldham although the edgehill course was better as it was a maths specialist course. I withdrew from the interviews once I got the offer as I didn't want to go through the stress of it again
Hey, I had my interview on 21st and accepted my place just a few days after.

The presentation was really relaxed and friendly, it's more about how you communicate and engage with the group. The interview was very short, I got asked: how I would deliver an effective lesson, about team work and ensuring good relationships with colleagues, about behaviour management and inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities.

Good luck!

Thank you! Congrats to you too! I did both the skills tests in November and they were actually alright -much easier than the practice ones I thought!
Ooh I hope so

I only sent my UCAS 2 days ago. Was wondering how long they took to invite you to an interview and also what kind of questions did they ask you?
I sent my form on the Friday night and got a phone call on the Wednesday after for an interview on the sAturday. This was for MMU. Edgehill got back to me on the Tuesday after I applied on the Friday
I have my interview in January and I'm so scared because I really want to go to MMU next year.. If you have any tips about questions that would be great! Also do they have individual interviews at all?
Hi there's a 2 minute presentation in groups on a current educational issue. Then you discuss the issues in a group of about 5/6. Make sure you contribute to the group asking questions but don't overpower and take over. They're looking at how well you work as a team. Then you have ten mins individual interview with about 4 questions. About how you'd deliver an effective lesson, how you work in a team, about behaviour management and inclusion and diversity in the classroom. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.
Thankyou so much! I'll let you know

Hi, this is very last minute as my interview is tomorrow, but what was the basis of the video they show you? And what type of questions were asked to be discussed following the video? Any help would be really appreciated!

I have my interview on 16th on March. Really nervous as mmu is my first choice, even though I do have two conditional offers from Edge Hill and Liverpool Hope.

It was a lot more laid back than I expected of MMU, as long as you sound like you know what you're talking about and you are able to show that you listen carefully to what others say and take their ideas into consideration then you should be ok! Huddersfield is my first choice but there's only 22 places on that course so I don't have my hopes up, MMU is my 2nd choice though and I got an offer the day after my interview so I'm pretty pleased. Good luck!
