Computer Science and Mathematics degree with master to a Physics PHD

Hi, I am planning to get into to a Mathematical Computer Science degree and then plan to do a phd in a physics related subject and I was wondering if universities would accept or even consider applicants with a computer science background into physics or certain area in physics for a phd. I really love Physics and computer science and want to ultimately work with physics.
In general, yes, although obviously it depends on what you plan to research.
