Chemistry revision?

Hi guys, I'm currently in year 12, studying Chemistry, Biology, Maths and EPQ

While I know how to revise or practice for Biology and Maths, I don't have any ideas on how to revise for Chemistry.. Any help? :frown:

I found that Chemistry was more about understanding concepts than memorising facts by rote (like in Biology, at least for AQA).
http://chemrevise.org/revision-guides/ is great, as well as http://www.chemguide.co.uk/, which goes into quite a lot of detail. I honestly didn't really use my notes much, I used the CGP textbook and the Collins' revision guides. I've only just started using this website for A2 but it's also very good http://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/chemistry-revision/.Youtube is amazing as well, especially this guy https://www.youtube.com/user/NewcastleChemistry/playlists

I did a lot of past papers, but I'm not sure how this will work for the new A levels. Make sure you ask for help if you don't completely understand something because a lot of the concepts build on others, and you can feel like you're falling behind quite easily. If you have any specific chem (or bio or maths!) questions, feel free to ask. Hope this helps.

For Biology understand the concepts first, once you have the big picture in your mind and have an understanding of the main concepts then I'd recommend memorising the finer details. But building the bigger picture is the most important. Then do past paper questions specific to the topic you just finished revising.

For chemistry, it's more understanding, and applying and exam technique. You have to do a lot of past papers.

That's great! Some of those resources contain stuff that my Collins' revision guide doesn't include.. And do you think that CGP textbooks are more helpful than the Collins' ones? I've been thinking about buying one haha

Thing is that there is no past papers for the new specification.. But for the rest, I agree haha thanks :smile:

it'll fill in gaps in your GCSE knowledge as well as explain the AS concepts simply and give you some good tips
i have the one for A2 OCR A Biology it's really good *_*

it's like a CGP book... but a textbook and it's laid out nicely and stuff idk it'll come in useful :3

It's definitely worth getting the CGP textbook, it's a lot more detailed and has more exam practice than the Collins' guides which are basically just for revision. If you're on AQA for biology the Philip Allan books are good as well, they have really nice diagrams for the plants section haha
