There are several deadlines.

You are now too late to apply for Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary courses starting in Sept 2016.

For equal consideration on other courses, your application must be sent to UCAS by your school/college/external referee by 18.00 on 15 January 2016. Your
school/college/external referee will need some time before this to process your application.

Admissions tutors for some courses will not review applications received after 15th January. Other courses will have places available after this date, and you can leave it as late as August/September to apply to UCAS (you would apply for courses in clearing if you leave it as late as this). Another reason to apply sooner is accommodation. Many universities offer an accommodation guarantee to first year students, but it will be conditional, with one of the conditions often being that you must apply by a particular date to qualify for the guarantee.
