how much do i need to pass?

hello,

my friend is doing a compsci degree and is failing a module. how much would he need to get in his last test in order to get 40% to pass the module?
there were 5 tests
in test 1 he got 4 marks out of 10
in test 2 he got 6 marks out of 15in test 3 he got 0 marks out of 20
in test 4 he got 0 marks out of 25
and test 5 has not happened yet.

the 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 all add up to 100 and is graded out of 100.
I'm sensing you actually don't have infinite wisdom ...

Wouldn't you need 40/100 then?

I know you need 40 to pass, but how much would he need in test 5 to average up to 40?

Your friend would need full marks in the last test to pass.

You have 10, so 30 more to pass, therefore you'll need a perfect score in this final test. Geez, stem students should cut us non-stem students some slack

I'd imagine so, since he couldn't do simple 40 minus 10
