Anyone doing/ done a business-related postgraduate course?

Hi all,

I'm currently in the final year of my economics degree at the University of Hull and I'd like to study a MSc Finance and Investment degree at the University of Nottingham next year.

I was hoping that somebody who is currently or has previously completed a similar course at Notts could share their experiences with me. Specifically:

- What is the workload like?
- Does the business school require you to attend lectures, seminars etc? At UoH, attendance is optional and I've found that my learning style is better suited to revising the lecture slides and textbooks, rather than listening to a lecturer.
- Does assessment usually involve group work, assignments, exams etc?
- Are you given a choice of modules to study?
- Am I likely to be accepted onto the course with a 1st class degree in Economics from UoH?

And a bit off-topic - What accommodation is available to postgraduate students?
