What does Fitness to practice mean?

I have applied to study childhood studies got unconditional offer... On the letter it says I need to undergo a fitness to practice ? What does that mean ?
Generally making sure you are physically fit enough to do the job (normally a short medical form filled in by your doctor), and also a background/criminal check to make sure you pose no risk to children.
