Didn't enrol and now being chased for rent payment

Hi, I'm a student in the UK and I had to leave Uni due to family reasons which meant I didn't receive my loan. I'm now being chased up by the accommodation administration and have been threatened to be passed on to a dept collection agency. I was just wondering if there's a way round not paying this or anything I could possibly do to limit this payment.

It depends entirely on what contract you signed with them. If you signed for the accomodation you're probably liable for the rent unless you can find someone else to take the room, and you'll have to negotiate with them or ask if there's any way they'll forgive it.
