Should I take a year in industry?

Hi, Just wondering if it is worth taking a year in industry for computer science BSC?

Will it be harder to get into even if the entry requirements and the same as normal 3 year bsc computer science?

What affect does it have on job prospects?

Advantages, Disadvantages?

Thanks!!

Do it. Same entry requirements (harder competition is more like as more chose to op for the industrial year). Job Prospects +1000

Yeah, there's complete flexibility in what you want to do, industrial year is between Stage 2 & 3 so you have up to the end of 1st year, also depends how flexible the uni is but most encourage it as you're much more likely to be a statistic on their "Graduate Employment within 6 Months" section.

Where are you wanting to apply? You should also look at doin Internships and stuff after your first year, experience will help you stand out.
