Should First Aid be made compulsory in UK schools?

I think First Aid should be made compulsory in schools just like English and Maths is. Instruction in first aid could only take a few hours a term.
At different age groups there will be certificated first aid courses and exams with a final certificate on leaving school.

Do you think First Aid should be a mandatory part of a child's education?
Yes, why not. Seriously one reason for why not?

Yes I think it should. It should be taught in PSHE/Tutor period. Would be a good skill to have as not many young people know what to do in situations that require it.
First aid should not be taught in schools any more than Evolution should be taught. Creationism and faith healing should teach our children all they need to know.
I say all pupils should have basic first aid by year 7
Intermediate and possibly advanced first aid by year 9 to 11

Yes (this was a UKIP policy) a lot more important than learning about religion
