Oxidation numbers

I need to find the oxidation numbers
2Sr(NO3)2(s) 2SrO(s) + 4NO2(g) + O2(g)
so far on the lhs:
i GOT
Sr= +2
N=+5
O= -6
the oxygen is wrong and the N is right. Don't know about Sr.

In H2SO4
O: -2 (-8)
H: +1 (+2)
S: +6

Mg is 0

In MgSO4
Mg: +2
S: +6
O: -2 (-8)

H2 is 0
why is the OXYGEN VALUE WRONG?
Have you written the correct equation on your post? There's no Sr or N in that forumula.

I copied the wrong question.
2Sr(NO3)2(s) 2SrO(s) + 4NO2(g) + O2(g)
For the Sr(NO3)2:
Sr: +2
N: +5 (+10)
O: -2 (-12)

why is the O -2 though, i got -6 for that.

Oxygen is always -2 unless it's in a peroxide.

Think about it... if the oxidation number of oxygen was -6 here then the overall charge of the molecule would be -24 which it is clearly not.
