grr my phone does not like typing messages on TSR. Well if its any consolation I am in my thirties (which will seem like a million years away to you) and was too scared of failure to apply in my twenties so be proud of yourself for knowing what you want and going after it at such a young age. Dont be deterred (which I,m sure you wont be). If Glasgow is really where you want to go and you decide to apply again next year then you should say all that in your personal statement. All this will just add to your life experience which makes for a great artist.

Those are really kind words. Probably the most reasonable anyone has told me today, so thank you.
I'm just so terribly afraid of not spending the so called "best years of my life" (20s) on something meaningful (like getting a degree mostly for fun, and not necessarily because it may lead to a career.) My personal statement was actually what I got the most positive feedback on, so at least that was solid! But yes. Using life experience is definitely something I do, and will continue with, as an artist.

you are very welcome and I am happy if I helped in any way to ease the blow. I had alot of good years in my twenties but my thirties have been my happiest so far - I feel so much more comfortable and content with myself - so dont fret.

Yes! They have offered me an unconditional offer!

I received an unconditional from Camberwell last Tuesday. I told them I wouldn't be able to come for an interview under the assumption that they would ask me to do a skype/phone interview. Oddly, they emailed me asking instead to upload my portfolio on flickr, to write a few sentences about the photos, to answer some written questions, and attach an essay.. with the deadline being the same day I received the email. I didn't see the email until early evening and managed to finish all of that by 10 minutes to midnight!

In hindsight I wish I went for the interview, as other universities have offered me direct entry into 2nd year after interviewing and seeing that I would be able to.

Where else have you applied to? I applied for second year also, but Camberwell gave me the unconditional offer for starting the first year :/

I applied for and have unconditionals from Manchester, Swansea, and Camberwell. As far as I'm aware it's not possible to get into 2nd year if you don't have the credits (like the completion of first year at a different school) even if you have an amazing portfolio, which is senseless in my opinion!

By the way, looking forward to the offers tour on the 18th for Camberwell. Anyone attending?

Would I be able to see your portfolio ? Just want to see what kind of work gets you an unconditional!

I'm a little apprehensive, but yeah if it helps you! Here's my cargo: http://cargocollective.com/benyau

I intend to separate the work into projects and write about it.

This is beautiful work! There was another artist, I can't quite recall their name, who used old torn up posters and billboards like that and it's always fascinated me, so very inspiring indeed! So did you say you were thinking about LCC?

Not sure, I have offers from Camberwell, LCC, LCF and CSM so super torn! I do love Camberwell though. Why did you choose Camberwell?

Is it the photography course at LCC? I've heard that it's a lot more commercial and they have better facilities so it depends what you're after. For me I knew I wanted to do a photography course that specialises in fine art, as well as the freedom to move beyond just lens based work so Camberwell was the clear choice for me - I didn't apply to LCC. I've also enjoyed a year at Glasgow school of art and the course seems to be similar to Camberwell. Is that info of any use? I'll do my best to answer any other questions!
Hi guys, i'm having abit of dilemma.. i accepted my place at camberwell to study painting but since then have realised that photography is want i should be studying and is my passion and a while back i heard from someone studying there that once you arrive in the first week/day if its really urgent it is possible to change your course and bring along your portfolio and it should be okay. But i am really unsure and don't want to risk it- does anyone know anything about this or know of anyone who has done something similar and it has been fine? thanks!!!!

It is possible to change your course but this is usually something done during the first year and you can change for the start of the following year. As your course has not yet started then I suggest you get in touch with the university and see if they have a photography course and if there are any spaces available. If the uni does not have a photography course, or one that can work for you then I suggest going and speaking with UCAS as they may have other options at other universities available.
