Personal Statement - URGENT HELP NEEDED!!

is it possible to apply for a mixture of fashion communication and promotion courses as well as graphic design courses.

im interested in branding and identity within graphic design but for the fashion industry and ive found courses in graphic design that specialise in this but ive also found fashion courses that do this.

studying fashion and graphic design each have their cons. i dont want to do fashion as i want to be able to graduate being able to get into any industry if fashion doesn't work out. whereas for graphic design im sick of tired of not getting any sleep or eating because i have coursework due the next day.

i need to write a personal statement before 5pm today but its tricky as i dont know how ill be able to write it with my current choices. do i need to decide which i want to stick with fashion or graphics or can i choose and write about both.

any help is much appreciated, thanks.x

choices:
NUA fashion communication and promotion
plymouth graphic communication with typography
arts univeristy bournemouth graphic design

Ideally you want one type of course so that you can write a focused statement. Otherwise pick similar courses but if they're quite different you run the risk of coming across as unfocused and confused.

i understand what you mean and i'm trying to make sure my ps comes across as focused but also open minded to all aspects of the course especially if i end up choosing wanting to study all graphic design or fashion courses.
i also emailed my choices and they seem to think its okay mentioning my aspirations of wanting to do branding and identity (graphic) design in the fashion industry and these were from both my fashion and graphic design choices.

Here's their email responses:

Sunderland-graphic design
Yes, do mention that in your personal statement as it shows you are thinking about your future aspirations.I look forward to reaching your application form.

arts university Bournemouth - graphic design
we would encourage you to include as much information about your interest in the course as possible and include any information you think will aid your application. we cannot give specific advice about personal statements but please see further information on the UCAS website for further guidance.

Birmingham city university - Visual Communication - Graphic Communication
Your personal statement will need to clearly demonstrate your reasons for choosing our BA (Hons) Visual Communication - Graphic Communication degree course, your enthusiasm for the subject area and any possible future career aspirations you may have. Therefore, you would be more than welcome to include information regarding your desire to pursue a career focusing on branding and design within the fashion industry as part of your statement.

Norwich university of the arts - fashion promotion and communication
Yes, it is fine to mention this but I would recommend that you include the works “at present” before writing these intentions as your direction may change and we want to see that you are open minded to the full breadth of the course. I would not recommend including it if you are also applying to other courses other than Fashion Communication and Promotion or Graphic Design.

I'd actually say that apart from Sunderland they're all saying to focus on the course first and anything else relevant afterwards. What Norwich says is actually exactly what I was getting at and is the general advice we offer to all students.
