Why, that is highly surprising. Does that mean any country in the world could and should develop nuclear weapons, including us? That's good to know.

That saying that it is unfair that it is acceptable for some countries to have nuclear wepons but not others end of.

basically if the USA, UK etc all have nuclear weapons and it is ok for them to have them we don't think that other countries should be prohibited from having them.

Regardless of the 'fairness' of some countries having nuclear weapons, the NPT was written in the spirit of preventing the further proliferation of nuclear weapons. Germany would ideally like to see a world without nuclear weapons, but since this is impossible now the knowledge and technology is "out there" we see the best solution as being the gradual reduction of nuclear stockpiles and the prevention of their acquisition by further states.

Not to mention the fact that the DPRK has not shown themselves a mature and peaceful state by their continued provocations and huamn rights abuses - surely on a pragmatic level no other nation could want them to have a nuclear arsenal.
