Some questions in A2 Chemistry HPLC

What does it mean by 'The column is filled with tiny silica particles, and the solvent is non-polar - hexane, for example' ? Does this mean silica is dissolved in hexane? But the stationary phase is solid according to revision guide?
Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you’ve posted in the right place? Posting in the specific Study Help forum should help get responses.

I'm going to quote in Tank Girl now so she can move your thread to the right place if it's needed. :h: :yy:

Spoiler

The silica is the stationary phase and the solvent the mobile phase.
