a few quick questions about drama

ok so i'm considering changing to english and drama so these qs are directed at anyone who does drama cos i already know about the english stuff...
1. how much actual acting is involved? can you just concentrate on directing/writing etc if you're not much of an actor?
2. what are the facilities like and the student drama scene in general?
3 is student theatre dominated by those studying drama or do other students get a look in?
4 is the course still mainly lecture/tutorial based or are there more workshops and things? (at the moment i'm doing single honours english and am finding it so monotonous)
