Confusion with N-substituted amide structures!?

Hi guys,

I'm slightly confused about the structures and naming N-substituted amides from reactions of acyl chlorides with amines.

I think my concept of the reaction is flawed, so I would appreciate if someone could explain why I'm getting confused.

I did the google search "naming amides", the first link: http://chemwiki.ucdavis.edu/Organic_Chemistry/Amides/Nomenclature_of_Amides explained it all.
Your reaction is fine, the product is called N-methylethanamide.
