Student Finance for those applying through clearing (deadlines)

I have a question regarding student finance.

For those who are only thinking of applying through clearing once they get their A-level results, how do you secure student finance in that scenario?

Isn't the deadline some time in June, while clearing starts In August?

Are you suppose to apply for the student finance prior to making your university choice clear? I believe those that firm/security their choices might be doing it prior to their financing application.
The "deadline" for student finance is the end of May. That's to ensure you get your money by the time you start your course. In theory, you can apply up to 9 months after you start your course.

You don't have to apply before you make your choice clear. You just put down what course and uni you're mostly likely going to. If this changes, you can then change this, which doesn't take long.
