It's likely that you'll be based in Portsmouth, Winchester (Southampton) or London, but when you're in the recruitment process you can state a preference and we'll try match you up with something that suits you. However we do advice it's best to be as flexible as possible and part of the experience would be living somewhere a bit different!

Thank you, that's really reassuring and I would definitely want to make the most out of the experience!

Hi Maddie,

I've applied for the Business Specialist Apprenticeship 2016 and passed my assessment centre in Southbank 3 weeks ago today! I'm aware the matching process takes a while but is there a time limit at all? Do the managers 'picking' candidates wait until all assessment centres are over to give business interviews/offers or is it whenever and just luck of the pot getting picked?

Thanks Issy

Hey Issy

Well done on passing your assessment centre it's not an easy process at all so you have done very well!

There is no specific time limit for the matching process it just depends when a manager is ready to hire and they will look on the database for candidates. It tends to be an ongoing process and does not depend on when assessment centres take place.

Thanks

Hey I've noticed that the deadline for applications is the 29th of April but the opening was in January? If I apply today or tomorrow would I have a lower chance because it's almost the deadline??

Hey ThatExamWas!

The Futures roles have been open since the end of 2016 and it doesn't matter at all when you apply - we always advise that you apply as soon as possible in case roles close early but in this case the deadline is set at 30th April so get your application in soon!

Best of luck

Hi EXOMENDES

We operate a rolling recruitment process which means if you apply early then you will be given an earlier assessment centre and therefore offered a job if successful. We continually run assessment centres until we have enough candidates, and we have set the deadline at 30th April so we can have our final assessment centres over the next couple of months.

Thanks and good luck with your application!

Thank-you for the reply. I have handed in my application and received the online test on Friday. I would just like to know how many days I have to complete the 45min online test? And also is it just numerical reasoning as I have been practising this to understand the how to answer these questions?

Thank-you

Hi EXOMENDES

That's great to hear you got your application in and have already received the online IPAT test. Your login details are valid for 7 days however IBM require you to complete it within in 3 days preferably.

It's just the numerical reasoning test you will receive and really well done for practicing, we always advise it's best to practice before!

Good luck

Thank-you very much for the reply.
Ohh right - I should get on with it immediately then. Thanks for the notice.
I passed the online test and I am off to the assessment center. Wow - all that waiting was so nerve wracking. So glad I passed it!!

How did everyone else get on?

Hi Exomendes and Minjinoor

Congratulations on getting through to the assessment centre! You're right - the online test is tricky so you've both done really well to pass it.

Good luck at your assessment centres!

Is it too late to apply for the Gap Year programme? I'm having second thoughts about going to uni
Hi there !

I was wondering if you could shed any light on the current state of recruitment for software developer grads? A number of the candidates I was at the assessment centre with and I have been in the business matching stage for several months now. From what I can tell there seems to be a hiring freeze at the moment but if you have any information at all about when we might start seeing offers coming through (assuming we are matched) it would be really helpful

Thanks!
Hi,

I was wondering if the degree apprenticeship programme that you are offering last for a year, so does the degree course last for a year as well?

Thanks

Hi SalPKhan,

Unfortunately applications for our 'Futures' Gap Year Programme starting 2016 have ended, but we will be opening our roles for a 2017 start soon!

If you follow the link below and 'register your interest' you will receive an email notification when we are open for applications.

Hi Blueberry Muffins!

It's a tough process, so well done for getting so far!

We have been made aware of references to a change in the hiring situation at IBM from various sources on the internet - this is not information that has been communicated from our Recruitment Team and is therefore not from a valid source.

I'm afraid there is no specific time limit for the matching process it just depends when a manager is ready to hire and they will look on the database for candidates.

Best of luck,
Kate

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch!

Our Degree Apprenticeship Programme is three years long and you would gain your degree over that three year period - but you would be a full-time employee from day one.

Just to clarify IBM are currently piloting the Degree Apprenticeship, but if you are interested in completing the Degree Apprenticeship with IBM, firstly select whether you'd like to do the Technical or Business Apprenticeship and then make it clear on your Application Form you would like to apply for the specific Degree Apprenticeship.

Good luck!
