As far as I can see from this
http://www.ucas.com/getting/after/replies.html

you have to reply by the deadline BUT see also

scroll down to q39.

I would ring UCAS and check, because I'm sure I've also seen somewhere that once you have chosen your firm and insurance, you have a 14 day "cooling off" period in which to correct any errors - this may simply mean that if what you entered on Track didn't come up in the confirmation letter you get sent, there is time to put this right, rather than being able to make an outright change, but ask them.

I think it means you can change your mind. A few people on here seem to have done that with no problems, as long as it's within 14 days and you only do it once. That would at least be a kind of safety net if you can't get the deadline extended, but phone UCAS anyway and ask because you actually have a valid reason.

Is there anyway I can persuade UCAS to let me have another week on top of my deadline for choosing which uni I want to go to??

I haven't managed to look around my top 2 yet!! I've been in Switzerland, I got back a few weeks ago..but I just haven't had the time to get to them..

I need longer to decide :frown:

My frirend found a clever little loophole. If you know theres a uni on your list that you definately do not want to go to, then call that uni and change your degree course. My friend called a uni to change his degree form english to english and history. Anyway, they changed it for him then on ucas, his reply deadline went from may 3rd to june 5th......crazy or what...I'mcontemplating doing the same thing!

Anyway good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
