I've moved it to maths exams for you, don't worry. You didn't need to edit your post! On it as usual.

TeeEm, should I sit AEA? I'm not sure whether I should or not!

Given you are doing STEP it will only serve as a "fun" paper.

Thanks for making the thread!

I've had a look at a past paper or two and it seems like a hard C4 paper, not bad at all. What are the usual boundaries for the top mark?

I did the solutions to last years paper (2015) and I was shocked as to how bad this paper was ...

...and by bad I mean certainly not very advanced.

The most challenging question was question 3 and maybe 7....
The rest were simply embarrassing...

DO YOU LISTEN EDEXCEL?

2006 - 2009 there were some decent papers.

Are you taking C34 this June or this January
(maths or Further maths?)

In June not doing FM but most of AEA is pure maths just a little bit of extension

personally I think it might be a distraction unless you finish the C34 course by say March.
Then it will be no harm and it may help.

I've already finished c3&4
Shall I do the AEA? I'm teaching myself (with a bit of help) C3 and C4 and I've just finished C4 binomial theorem. I'm in year 12.

I agree, the boundaries were worrying low only 10% achieving the distinction.
It was rather easy after doing step I,II,III the week before. Earlier papers had some beautiful sums and graphs.

Shocking that only 10% people scored over 70.

The integration, trig were moderately difficult for AEA id say. The rest was pretty easy. I seen my paper analysis on results plus. Dropped marks on last prt integration since I ran out of time and end part of vectors(used the wrong vector lol OX instead of AX haha).
I hated the arithematic especially in that series question when integrating the numbers were so bad.

Whoop. Didn't know I got a certificate until few days ago.

In C3/4 could they ask proof by contradiction?
For example prooFing ln2 is irrational
