anyone else scared?

Is anyone else scared about starting uni and going to freshers? I'm absolutely petrified of meeting new people and talking to them and I know I will have to do it but it would be good to know if anyone else feels like that too?

I'm starting my uni this September and I don't see the point why you should be scared.

i'm terrified. i'm gonna be under 18 in my first year and i'm scared i won't make any friends because everyone will be going out and getting drunk etc. i'm also scared that i won't have anything in common with anyone
Please don't use driving test checker that say 14 day money back, they don't find you a cancelation and when you find one yourself they won't give you your money back please don't fall for it one off payment of £19 save your money they are a SCAM

I'm going to be 17 as I turn 18 in October and yeah I feel the same way as you do! I know that you don't need alcohol to have a good time but since a lot of other people are old enough to drink I will probably feel awkward

So, you are only afraid because of your age?

But you made this thread because you want to meet new people.

Don't you have any friends that will go to the same uni?

At the end, I believe you will meet other awkward people like you, so don't worry.

So what are your interests? I think many people have the same.

There is nothing wrong with having no friend at the beginning of term because a lot of students are in similar position. I just asked because I could suggest hanging out with them.

you may have posted this in the wrong place amanda ? :dontknow:
I'm scared not of meeting new people...I'm scared of living independently more so learning how to cook
as I'm not having beans on toast 24/7. I have been considering catered halls but I'm not sure how much more
they charge you compared to making a meal by yourself. Also, what range of foods catered halls and offer
and if they cater towards specific diets.

Also, if I did learn how to cook i.e Gordon Ramsey over the summer then surely the money saved by going self-catered I can use that towards a holiday abroad the following summer.

There's nothing to worry about about coming to uni. Once you're there, you'll quickly realise school was the worst time of your life. There's so much freedom at uni, as well as studying something you love in a place you actually want to live in.

Me too, I'm in Year 12 and I'm already scared about freshers. I'm not social at all and don't drink. I think I'll just end up isolating myself like always.

That sounds like me! I hate socialising but I do drink. I never really speak to anyone when at parties and sit in the corner :s-smilie:

Yeah everyone says that and I am really looking forward to that aspect of uni. I hate school now and just want to get out of it but I'm scared that I'll hate uni cause I've heard from a few of my older friends that they didn't really like it and they dropped out
