Edexcel C4 - 24th June 2016 AM

Last year's thread was up before this one so I thought it was about time to start a thread for those preparing for the C4 exam this summer! I've linked to some resources below, let me know if there are more I should add.

Yeah, looking to start grinding through all the past papers now

Didn't realise that you weren't sitting it, sorry!

Thanks! I've added the link into the OP
We haven't even started C4 in class, but I do know some of the content. Integration makes my brain hurt, but I'm sure it'll get easier.

A lot of the results are found in the formulae sheets, it's just a case of knowing how to apply them, after a bit of practice it becomes more straightforward.

Is your class leaving C4 until last?

C3 - straightforward
S2 - Easy
D1 - slightly difficult
D2 - straightforward so far
FP1 - so easy

Don't underestimate FP1, I didn't do enough revision for it last year and panicked in the exam :colondollar: I'm planning on retaking that module this year :u:

D1 is unusual in that the mark schemes are very specific, they want you to lay out things a certain way when performing the algorithms. It's worth checking all the mark schemes and examiner reports if you can find them for that module.

I agree with the rest, D2 was quite enjoyable for me last year

C1 - Lol, I finish in 30 mins
C2 - Circles are gross, but I still breeze through
C3 - Can actually GTFO, hate the pesky trig proofs
C4 - Smexy. Challenging enough but still doable

FP1 - Nice and easy
FP2 - A bit more juicy but still manageable if I iron out stupid mistakes
FP3 - A slight mind**** but I love it really. It's like a sadistic killer that you should hate but actually fall in love with

S1 - Should be a GCSE module tbh
S2 - A bit more fun than the previous oneone

M1 - Standard. Fun because I did Physics before
M2 - See above but more fun

D2 - Algorithms are a pain in the ass
Isn't Edexcel C3 exam in the same week as Edexcel C4?

:evilbanana: Who doesn't love a bit of sadistic maths

Yeah I agree completely. Although, shouldn't you expect to study yet more algorithms on a data science degree?

Perfect timing for the thread. Is there any point to resit an AS module if I got over 80% overall?
In order to get the A*, do you absolutely need to get the 90% average in C3 and C4? Or could it also be a 90% average of the whole A-level?
