Most Overrated Retired Footballers XI

Yeah, Sir Alex naming Cantona and Giggs in his four world class players is an odd one considering some of them he left out. Giggs was just longevity. Think the definition he gave and reasoning for picking them wouldn't quite go with the standard definition of world class.

Overrated retired players. Hmmm.

I honestly think Ronaldo and Zidane are in that list.

Beckham. But then I think he was overrated during his career too.

Henry and Ronaldinho are overrated I don't care what anyone says

Ffs.
Ronaldo is not overrated. It's ridiculous that anyone would think he is.

174 goals in 254 appearances for Arsenal.
284 goals in 582 appearances overall.
A return of a goals just under every 2 games is overrated? Righty ho.

17, don't know what that has to do with anything though. Saying Henry and Ronaldinho were overrated is the biggest load of sh*te I've ever heard. Only Aguero has a better PL goals to games ratio than Henry. Don't even need to say anything about Ronaldinho.

No Henry was amazing at Arsenal but you can't judge him just on that he went out of his prime too early you have to judge their whole career not just their prime.

Absolute assist machine too, and is the best the PL has ever seen. Genuinely think he's underrated.

Why do you have to judge their whole career? That's ridiculous. Why?

People even say Ronaldinho is better than Messi he was amazing in his prime but look what happened after 2006 WC you are looking at his career at Barca and disregarding everything else you have the wrong methodology.

Yeah erm, that 284 in 582 is his entire career. Not including internationals, which was also just under 1 goal in every 2 games.

He's not retired, believe it or not.

People think Mellberg was as good as Laursen ffs.

Great thread. This could make or break a poster forever imho.

Seeing as though nobody has said them: Fabio Cannavaro and Roberto Baggio.

You can't just look at their high points and disregard their low points you have to look at everything otherwise you are just cherry picking it's not really a fair analysis of a player.
