Civil Engineering vs Biomedical science

I know that both courses are very different but i check the yearly income for a civil engineering today and it was higher than that of a biomedical scientist. So i just wanted to know the prons and cons in civil engineering.
To get on the higher wages at a more senior level you need to be chartered and you need to have a portfolio of work in contracting and consulting and there was a 3rd thing I believe. I'm applying for it and so going to enter this September. Love the look of the courses as it has the favourite parts of each of my A levels.
