Nursing

I know this might sound stupid but have heard these two questions and just wanted confirmation

Is it possible to specialise in Learning disabilities after becoming a ADULT nurse?

If you become a Learning Disability nurse how/could you become an adult nurse?
For both, you would have to do an extension / conversion course to be either. Both result in nurse status, put as adult you are rn. As ld you are rnld.
So although you're a nurse it's different qualifications.

Either way, do the one you're more passionate about and interested in. Not worth wasting the time doing a course you don't enjoy.

thanks that is a great reply to confirm what i was thinking I want to do learning disability nursing 100%, Id like to do an extension or specialise in further as I have big plans for the future of enabling individuals.
The joys of nursing is that it's a very varied career. If you get bored or dislike an area; you can retrain and go into somewhere else. I'm halfway through my ld degree and I love it but as I progress I know I want to do adult at some point as I have a great interest in oncology as well and theatres. So that will be something for the future.
