Comparative Literature UCL, Kings College London or Queen Mary?

Hello!
Where is it better to do BA in comparative literature UCL, Kings College London, or Queen Mary? I am an international student, and I really need some advice. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find comparative lit students on this forum.
Thanks!

UCL is probably regarded as the best of the three schools you listed. However, KCL is not [that] far behind. I doubt know about your specific program though.

Hey Nina, I may be biased as I'm in my second year of my BA in Comparative Lit. with Film Studies at King's College, but I would still definitely go for King's if I were you. The study of Comparative Literature as a program at university has only existed for a few decades since a lot of theorists we study emerged during the second half of the 20th century. Yet King's is one of the first universities to create a department dedicated to it (possibly the first in the UK, but definitely the first in London) and a lot of the teachers that founded it are still here teaching and providing leading global research (examples: http://www.kcl.ac.uk/artshums/depts/complit/research/index.aspx). You can read here a few words from the Head of our department about the program http://www.kcl.ac.uk/artshums/depts/complit/study/handbook/about/index.aspx

So yes UCL may be higher thank King's in most university rankings, but if you want to go for Comp Lit than definitely put King's as your first choice since they have much more expertise in teaching, plus it's much more fun as a uni as well

Let me know if you have any more questions,

Alex

Hello! I am so sorry for my late reply. (I didn't get the notification when you posted your answer. I don't know why). I really like KCL  I was wondering if it is possible to select closely related disciplines right from the start in order to focus on the specific area of specialization. I also wanted to ask if the program is focused on modern literature.

I created a study group for comparative literature students on Facebook. Would you like to join it? https://www.facebook.com/groups/838962262867949/?fref=ts

Thank you!
