Careers and employment prospects with a life science degree?

Hello everyone,
What are the career prospects and employment opportunities with a life science degree from a top RG universities? (E.g. Durham,Warwick,UCL,ICL,Manchester etc)
Can the degree lead to a well paid job in the end? (the average graduate salaries for biosciences/biochemistry and natural sciences seems low)
Thanks in advance,

Yes, but it'll be in a field outside of life sciences (i.e. finance, law, grad schemes etc). Research assistants are grossly underpaid but you don't really go into the field with the view of making bucket loads - you do it because it's your passion.

Employment prospects are a function of how strong your CV, the name of the uni itself is not enough to stand out. Be proactive at uni: seek out volunteering opportunities, networking opportunities, get involved in the life of your uni, run things by yourself. The overall aim is to develop the type of skills and experience employers want to see.
