Check out the dell xps 15 or the Asus zenbook'
There on my list of possible laptops
for £1500 I'd get a kick ass PC with a ~500£ laptop
15 inch retina MB, bootcamp windows for Matlab, CAD, Ansys

If I was going to spend that much on a laptop, I'd roll with this majestic beauty :cute:

Yep OP, this is the way to go. Wish I'd done the same instead, you can get quality PC's for under £600.

With your budget though, there are only a tiny handful of Laptops out of you reach, may as well buy the best specced one you can find.

PC Specialist have good options for configuring your own, make your own spec here

If the guy's got £1500 to spend on a laptop and doesn't know what to get, I'd say he is too dumb to own a calculator.

Note to OP: High-end laptop =/= pussy magnet.

with £1500 budget you might as well get a decent PC for around £5-600 and keep it in your room at uni and then just get a tablet to take to lectures - any tablet that has wifi and a word processor will do.

then again you don't actually need a laptop or pc for uni as you can just use the universities facilities - that way you can spend the money on something else
