    I'll comment on AKD (A K Davidson) :-)

They were refurbished 6 years ago and have internet connection in every room. Right, that's my bit straight out the book! I was on the east wing, in a corridor with 6 of us in and it was really really nice. Great views out everywhere (from my side at least, not sure about the other side!). The hall assistants are really really nice, as are the porters! Got on really well with them, they are so friendly :-)

*It's not the end of the world if one of the sinks is piled high with dirty dishes, dead spiders and bits of old food. It just means you're living with selfish morons, so make sure you wash up a.s.a.p, because it is not unheard of for a cleaner to just dump everything from the sink into a black plastic bag and leave it in the hall. Also, last year the porter woke up everyone from one floor and made them go through to the kitchen to wash their dirty dishes. So behave. :p:
I remember that! Much much moaning....ahh memories

Not sure, I was usually too busy with my head under my pillow muttering dire threats! But he may well be!

Ooh, have you applied there too? Me too! Haven't heard anything yet though

Thought: when I say applied, I mean are you thinking about it or asking because you already have!

Has a beautiful campus - have applied there as a back up choice. Would love to go there if only I didn't live so close.

I've just realised (or had it told to me!!) that doing SW in Scotland will only let me practice in Scotland (I did know but not consciously if that makes any sense!) so won't be off up to Stirling if I get an interview seeing as I live in England!

So it's the same as law then? You could always stay in Scotland after uni if Stirling offers the best course for you.

It was never my first choice, and to be honest I wasn't really wanting to go there, it was my 'comfort' choice as I already knew the university and this has just confirmed that it's probably not the best choice for me! Plus if I do an english course, it just gives me a bit more freedom about where I can live in the future So if you do law in Scotland, you can't practise as a Lawyer(...I assume!) in England?

You can't practice in England if you study Scots law, no. Though some unis (Dundee for one) do Scots and English law so you have the choice of either.
That's ok then, no big loss to you

No you can practice in England with the Scottish qualification in social work - whoever told you that is misinformed.

She taught part of the Social Work degree where I had one of my interviews so I kinda assumed she was right!

Ahhh dammit....I've got unconditionals from Glasgow and Aberdeen and expecting them from Edinburgh and Stirling...was all set to go to Glasgow but this has made me all nostalgic (used to hang about the Uni with an ex who used to study there) and made me want to go to Stirling now

    Damned yooo

Anybody about here that does computing at Stirling? Is it to be recommended?
