Re: Stirling Uni.
I'll comment on AKD (A K Davidson) :-)
They were refurbished 6 years ago and have internet connection in every room. Right, that's my bit straight out the book! I was on the east wing, in a corridor with 6 of us in and it was really really nice. Great views out everywhere (from my side at least, not sure about the other side!). The hall assistants are really really nice, as are the porters! Got on really well with them, they are so friendly :-) -
Re: Stirling Uni.I remember that! Much much moaning....ahh memories(Original post by clyn)
*It's not the end of the world if one of the sinks is piled high with dirty dishes, dead spiders and bits of old food. It just means you're living with selfish morons, so make sure you wash up a.s.a.p, because it is not unheard of for a cleaner to just dump everything from the sink into a black plastic bag and leave it in the hall. Also, last year the porter woke up everyone from one floor and made them go through to the kitchen to wash their dirty dishes. So behave.

Re: Stirling Uni.Really?(Original post by he_is_innocent)
Also, there is a bagpiper who wanders round the loch in the mornings playing! never quite figured out a pattern to it so not sure if he plays on mondays wednesdays and fridays or anything but he's definitely there at some mornings!
I've never seen him - he's not the guy with the cool hat, is he?

Re: Stirling Uni.So it's the same as law then? You could always stay in Scotland after uni if Stirling offers the best course for you.(Original post by he_is_innocent)
I've just realised (or had it told to me!!) that doing SW in Scotland will only let me practice in Scotland (I did know but not consciously if that makes any sense!) so won't be off up to Stirling if I get an interview seeing as I live in England! -
Re: Stirling Uni.It was never my first choice, and to be honest I wasn't really wanting to go there, it was my 'comfort' choice as I already knew the university and this has just confirmed that it's probably not the best choice for me! Plus if I do an english course, it just gives me a bit more freedom about where I can live in the future(Original post by SmilerNuts)

So if you do law in Scotland, you can't practise as a Lawyer(...I assume!) in England?

No you can practice in England with the Scottish qualification in social work - whoever told you that is misinformed. -
Re: Stirling Uni.
Ahhh dammit....I've got unconditionals from Glasgow and Aberdeen and expecting them from Edinburgh and Stirling...was all set to go to Glasgow but this has made me all nostalgic (used to hang about the Uni with an ex who used to study there) and made me want to go to Stirling now
Damned yooo
Anybody about here that does computing at Stirling? Is it to be recommended?
